Nutty Oatmeal

Almond butter and crunchy chopped almonds add flavor, protein, and texture to oatmeal. A little honey sweetens the deal.

Total Time: 10 min.
Prep Time: 5 min.
Cooking Time: 5 min.
Yield: 4 servings, about ½ cup each

Ingredients:
1 cup water
2 cups unsweetened almond milk, divided use
¼ tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
2 Tbsp. all-natural almond butter
1 tsp. raw honey (optional)
2 Tbsp. chopped raw almonds

Preparation:
1. Bring water, 1 cup almond milk, and salt to a boil in medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently.
2. Add oats and almond butter; cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Let oatmeal stand for 1 minute before serving.
4. Divide evenly between two serving bowls; top each evenly with honey (if desired), remaining 1 cup almond milk, and almonds.
