Find Out What Candace Cameron Eats to Help Her Look Amazing

I think we can all agree that Candace Cameron Bure looks amazing. The 40-year-old actress got her first big break in St. Elsewhere, after which she popped up in other classic eighties’ TV shows including Punky Brewster and Who’s the Boss. But, it was her role as older sister D.J. Tanner in Full House that propelled Cameron to stardom.

In the 21 years since Full House’s series finale, Cameron has raised three kids with husband Valeri Bure, continued to act, and participated in Dancing in the Stars. Phew!

And recently, she revived her role as D.J. Tanner (now Tanner-Fuller) for Netflix’s Fuller House and is co-hosting The View. As you might imagine, she’s very busy, often on the go. And since it’s critical that she keep her energy levels up to perform at her best, she makes sure her nutrition is dialed in. As she recently told Cosmopolitan.com, “I keep a fairly strict diet. My job depends on it.”

Eating right is hard when you’re busy, but it’s almost that much more important to do when you are. Otherwise, you’re likely to run out of gas! Healthy food — lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats — will help you fight off stress and give you more useful energy to get through the day. Because while that soda seems like it’s going to help perk you up, just wait until the resulting sugar crash.

Candace confessed to Cosmopolitan.com that while she doesn’t love cooking, she does do her best to maintain a primarily vegetarian diet. She avoids dairy and opts for nuts, seeds, beans, and grains such as quinoa for the bulk of her protein (in addition to egg whites and the occasional piece of fish). Some of the meals she recorded in the food diary she shared with them included: kale salad with tomato, avocado, and quinoa; raw oatmeal with coconut milk; and a roasted vegetable salad.

And, she’s a Shakeology fan! In her diary, Candace shared her go-to shake, made with “Shakeology powder, banana, and almond milk.” That’s one of our favorite shakes as well! Simple and delicious.
